Electronic Adjustment Procedure for Model 1012

Electronic Adjustment Procedure for Model 1012 (PCB Rev.4)

Motor Speed Adjustment

  1. Disconnect connector J-104 on main PCB (90-100-00) to disable pulse generator.
  2. Connect voltmeter to D306 – cathode + to anode.
  3. Position speed control knob in maximum position by turning fully clockwise.
  4. Apply power to unit and press feed switch.
  5. Turn the adjustment potentiometer (R-306) on motor speed board 90-100-30 to obtain 101.OVDC.
  6. Turn the operator motor speed control knob to its lowest setting fully counter clockwise.
  7. Adjust (R-308) potentiometer to obtain 20.OVDC +_ EVDC.
  8. Turn off unit and reconnect connector J-104 on main PCB.

Media Sensor Adjustment

  1. Move the applicator head to uppermost position.
  2. Turn P601 and P602 (current for media LEDS) on PCB 90-100-80T fully clockwise.
  3. Connect the VOM probe to TP3 and take reading of voltage on both sensors label and tab.
  4. Switch to the sensor with lower voltage reading and using P101 on PCB 90-100-00T set the voltage to about 2VDC.
  5. Switch to the other sensor (T or L) and using corresponding trimpot on 90-100-80T PCB (P601 for sensor T and P602 for L) bring its voltage to the same value as the first sensor.
  6. Using P101 set the sensor voltage to 0.0V+0.1V, -0.0V.
  7. Insert white envelope in the sensor and bring the applicator head all the way down.
  8. Check the voltage on TP3 for both sensors. It should be a minimum 4VDC.

Tab Sensors Adjustment

  1. Remove approximately 12” of tabs from backing paper.
  2. Feed tab backing paper (tabs removed) through the sensor assembly.
  3. Advance backing paper until a tab is in front of the sensor.
  4. Turn P104 (current for tab LED) on PCS all the way clockwise.
  5. Connect the VOM probe to TP2 and using P103 on PCB 90-100-00T set the voltage to 3VDC +0.0, -.2V.
  6. To check adjustment, pull back on tab stock until only backing paper is visible to the sensor. Check voltage level at TP2. It should read maximum 1.0VDC.
